It is advised by skin-care experts that face serums be applied no more and no less than the instructed quantity, after cleansing your face and before moisturizing, so that your skin can absorb all the goodness of the serum quickly. 

If not researched properly, you might end up spending too much time and money on a serum that is not appropriate for you and may end up giving you adverse results. 

Should I Still Use A Moisturizer After The Face Serum? 

A common question among those of us with damaged skin barriers, or sensitive skin, is how to treat the concern without causing further damage or irritation to the skin. 

After you’ve applied your face serum, it recommended that you wait a few minutes for the skin to fully absorb the serum, and to follow it up with a moisturiser as the third step of your routine. This will prevent your skin from any irritation, or going dry and patchy, after it has absorbed the face serum. 

The type of moisturiser you choose should complement the face serum that you’ve applied. If you’ve applied a serum that contains active ingredients known for drying out the skin, it will be beneficial if you use a ceramide-based product that will deeply moisturise the skin, preventing the serum from irritating your skin and allowing the skin to be well-hydrated.
